MetLife Frequently Asked Questions

How many people in an agency are required to participate?
There is no minimum participation requirement.

What is the annual maximum limit on the Premier Plan?
The Premier Plan provides an annual maximum limit of $2,000, a limit often not readily available to small to medium-sized businesses.

Is there a waiting period?
For the Value Plan, there is a 12-month waiting period for Basic and Major Restoratives. The Premier Plan has a 6-month waiting period for Major Restoratives only.

Please note: If you currently have dental coverage and can provide evidence of insurance through a reputable carrier, the standard waiting periods can be waived. Contact your program representative at (800) 336-4759 for additional information.

What are the rates?
Rates are broken out by zone to ensure competitive pricing in your geographical area. You can access the rates by simply entering your home zip code in the box above and hitting the submit button. The rates for both the Value Plan and the Premier Plan for your zone will automatically appear on the page.

Does everyone in the agency have to buy the same type of plan?
No, each participant can make their own selection from the available plans in order to best meet their specific needs.

When will my coverage become effective?
Coverage becomes effective the first of the month following receipt of premium payment.

How do I pay for the coverage?
The agency you work for is invoiced quarterly. They determine the frequency of payroll deductions as well as the amount they are willing to pay toward the premium, if any.
